The Russian JSC Atomstroyexport in October plans to load fuel into the reactor of the first Iranian NPP Bushehr, Olga Tsyleva, the company’s spokeswoman reports.
“As of today, we expect permits from the Iranian regulators to load fuel assemblies (with nuclear fuel - IF) into the reactor vessel. The loading of nuclear fuel in reactor is planned for October 2010,” she said.
The computer virus Stuxnet did not affect the reactor control system operation, she also emphasized.
“The virus did not get into the APCS (automated process control system - IF) of the plant, because the Bushehr information system is fully isolated and local,” O. Tsyleva said.
At present, on the plant site the equipment is being prepared for the fuel assemblies loading in the reactor and a planned inspection of the plant’s major equipment, according to the spokeswoman.
In particular, the reactor vault integrity is being checked, with “revealed micro-pores being routinely repaired,” O. Tsyleva noted.
The nuclear fuel intended for the first reactor charge has been fully moved to the at-reactor storage pool.
Besides, due to a large scope of work on site, over the recent two months Atomstroyexport has increased the number of Russian specialists (commissioning and operating staff) by 280 persons.
