Russia and Cambodia have held their first working group on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy following the signature of memoranda between the two countries earlier this year. A statement from Cambodia's Ministry of Environment said that the country's government had "started to discuss the possibility of benefitting from nuclear energy in the longer term." According to the Phnom Penh Post, the 17 August meeting focused on initiatives to develop human resources to underpin nuclear technology development, including the establishment of a nuclear technology information centre.
