The 4th International Forum NDEexpo-2017 “High Technologies for Sustainable Development” has started on March 20 in Moscow’s World Trade Center. The event is run by ROSATOM jointly with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and Russian Venture Company. It is called to effectively support companies producing high technology products and rendering services for key industries.
The opening ceremony was attended by First Deputy CEO and Director for Development and International Business of ROSATOM Kirill Komarov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Vasily Osmakov.
The Forum NDExpo is carried out for the fourth time and represents a site for ROSATOM and its partners to demonstrate their high technology and innovative achievements. “This year, we reformatted the forum’s program trying to make it wider, and for the first time we are running this forum jointly with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and Russian Venture Company,” Komarov remarked. “The main focus of our discussion will be on the National Technological Initiative, which is the program which allows defining and supporting most competitive industries, technologies and hi-tech goods not only for Russia’s needs but also to be successful and high-tech in the whole world” he said. ROSATOM actively participates in this program. According to Komarov, ROSATOM works, as minimum, on five areas of the nine declared under NTI, which include health care, new energy, safety, robotics etc. “The forum is a good opportunity not only to discuss prospects of application of new technologies with our partners but also to speak in more details on this country’s future, about technologies which are to become the basis of sustainable development for the coming 15, maybe 20, years” Komarov emphasized.
In turn, Osmakov drew attention to the importance of interaction of Minpromtorg and ROSATOM. “We arrive at a lager number of inter-industry projects, we won’t close within our areas. Our joint work has an important focus which is the National Technological Initiative which includes a separate inter-industry area dealing with the cutting-edge technology development so-called Technet. We confirm we actively work with ROSATOM,” he said. The deputy minister named one more significant area that is the diversification of the defense industrial complex. “The President has set up the task to achieve 50% of civil goods produced by the defense industry by 2030. It relates to ROSATOM’s companies and it is the main area where we work together,” Osmakov said.
Using the grounds of NDExpo-2017, the experts discuss key challenges, prospects and areas for innovative and technological development of Russia; market development trends and technologies for the National Technological Initiative such as EnergyNet, TechNet, HealthNet, MariNet, SafeNet as well as potential synergy of ROSATOM’s participation in these projects implementation. The forum frames an exhibition of innovative technologies and product specimens made by largest companies of nuclear industry as well as high-tech companies that take the lead in other industries.
This year, the forum has gathered together a record number of participants. Over 1,500 representatives from more than 600 organizations, companies and agencies participate in the business program, which includes a plenary, four round-table sessions, three panel discussions and special events.
