On the February 15, 2018 at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi JSC VetroOGK signed a set of documents concerning construction of wind farms of up to 600 MW of total capacity in the South Russia.
In particular, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Krasnodar Territory Administration. The document plans to implement the investment project “Construction of WPPs of 200 MW” in Temryuk and Eisk Regions of Krasnodar Territory. Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratiev and General Director of JSC VetroOGK Aleksandr Korchagin signed the document. This is the next step in the development of the Cooperation Agreement with the Krasnodar Territory Administration signed in September 2016, also at the Sochi forum. In the territories of Temryuk and Eisk Regions the wind measurements are taken already and an investment project business plan has been approved. Total amount of investments in the project will be RUB 20.5 billion. Commissioning of WPPs is planned for the end of 2019. The territory administration, within its competence and in the order established by Russian law, will assist JSC Vetro OGK in implementation of the project.
Besides, a Cooperation Agreement has been signed with the Government of Stavropol Territory. The document was signed by Stavropol Territory Governor Vladimir Vladimirov and General Director of JSC VetroOGK Aleksandr Korchagin. The Agreement plans for construction of wind power plants of up to 400 MW of total capacity. The territory government, within its competence and in the order established by Russian law, will facilitate building up the favorable business climate for implementation of renewables projects in the region and consider tax and other reliefs in implementing the projects aimed at the development the fuel and energy complex of Stavropol Territory. The signed document is the continuation of the joint work with the Stavropol Territory Government (including the Ministry of Economic Development of Stavropol Territory).
Aleksandr Korchagin said: “The south of Russia is a priority region to implement ROSATOM’s strategy of wind energy. Given the localization of wind mills manufacturing in Volgodonsk, ROSATOM will create about 1,000 new jobs in the region. This is good start for the new industry development and diversification of ROSATOM’s portfolio in the carbon-free energy segment.”

JSC VetroOGK is part of the management company JSC NovaWind (a ROSATOM’s division) and act as the operator of the project to build and operation wing power plants (WPPs). JSC VetroOGK is a member of the Association NP Market Council and included in the register of wholesale electricity and power market subjects (OREM) (suppliers of electricity and power – owners of the generating equipment). In 2016 JSC VetroOgk won the tender for construction of 26 wind generation facilities of 610 MW power capacity and in 2017 it added 360 MW more. As a result of all tenders, the power capacity of JSC VetroOGK’s facilities is 970 MW (40% of all selected WPPs).
