Round-table discussion “Digital Future of NPP Control Systems - What Will It Be Like?” will be held at ATOMEXPO-2018 on May 15, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m. The discussion will be organized by JSC Rusatom Automated Control Systems (JSC RASU).
According to some experts, NPP will be the last place for IIoT to be implemented. Does this mean that NPP will continue to utilize outdated technologies or is there room for digital transformation? Are the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems of NPP amenable to new technologies, including IIоT, considering all the requirements related to fault tolerance and safety? How do we keep the balance between safety and progress in NPP automation?
The moderator of the meeting, Serge Minin, expert at the PwC's IoT Centre of Excellence in Russia, together with the guest speakers, will address a number of burning issues in the discussion:
  • Digitalization of I&C systems for NPP: is this possible?
  • How to achieve balance between digitalization, efficiency and security?
  • What digital solutions for I&C systems are already essential today?
  • The industry is global yet the standards for I&C systems are different. Why is this the case?
  • What is the value of global alliances for the industry development? Why should the industry players enter such alliances?
Such burning issues cannot be discussed in isolation, the opinions of all interested parties shall be taken into account.
Knowing this, we invite the representatives of international companies - players of the global NPP I&C market, the Russian and overseas clients and partners of ROSATOM and JSC RASU, regulatory bodies, leading companies of the allied industries, persons from the expert community and others join the discussion.
Among the guest speakers, there will be the representatives of the Russian and foreign companies: Mikhail Chudakov (IAEA), Dmitry Chichikin (WANO), Andrey Butko (JSC RASU), Philippe Sauvard (Framatome), Andrey Dukhvalov (Kaspersky Lab), Peikert Grischa (Siemens AG), Alexey Kovalevich (JSC ETC GET), Maher Chebbo (GE Power), Konstantin Komissarov (Schneider Electric Russia), Sun Yongbin (CTEC CGN).
