ASE Group of Companies (Engineering division of ROSATOM) has handed over Unit 3 of Tianwan NPP to the Customer – Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC, China) for 24-month guarantee operation, working on time and under all the contract obligations in the framework of construction of the second stage of Tianwan NPP.
“Protocol of Provisional Takeover of Unit 3 Tianwan NPP was signed in the course of 25th Joint Coordination Committee Meeting at Tianwan NPP construction site in China”, – informed Mr. Alexey Bannik, Director of the Projects in China, ASE Group of companies. 
Power startup of Unit 3 Tianwan NPP, constructed in China based on the Russian design with VVER-1000 reactor, took place on 30 December 2017. Units 3 and 4 of TNPP are constructed with the participation of specialists of ASE Group of Companies and the general designer of the NPP ‘nuclear island’ is JSC ATOMPROEKT (subsidiary of ASE Group of Companies).

Tianwan NPP is the largest facility of the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation. Start-up of power units No. 1 and No. 2 was held in 2007. These first two units of Tianwan NPP annually generate above 15 billion KW/hour of electric power. The cooperation in construction of the second stage - Units No. 3 and No. 4 of Tianwan NPP is carried out based on the Protocol signed between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Republic of China. Tianwan NPP design is based on the Russian project AES-91 with reactor type VVER-1000, which fully meets the requirements of up-to-date regulatory and technical documents of China, Russian Federation and IAEA. Construction of Tianwan nuclear power plant is being carried out by Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) in cooperation with Russian company Atomstroyexport included in ASE Group of Companies.
