Hydraulic pressure tests will be carried out at unit 4 of Russia's Rostov nuclear power plant next month, Rosenergoatom general director Andrey Petrov said during a working visit to the Rostov plant construction site, the company said today.

Hot tests will follow in August, he added, and the unit is to be commissioned this year. The Rostov plant is located on the banks of the Tsimlyansk reservoir, nearly 14 km (8 miles) from the city of Volgodonsk. Unit 3 began commercial operation in September 2015.
