Russia's Federal State Unitary Enterprise Radioactive Waste Management Enterprise, or RosRAO, has announced that its design of a container intended for the transport, storage and final disposal of radioactive waste has successfully completed certification tests.
The tests included strength, sealing, stacking and impact. Denis Zamaskin, director of the company’s North-Western Territorial District, said RosRAO had "long been in need" of such a complete container design of its own. Its features are superior to similar designs on the world market, but at a competitive cost to produce, he added.
