Russia has started testing the strength and hermetic enclosure system of the reactor containment building at unit 4 of the Rostov nuclear power plant.
The work is one of the main stages of pre-commissioning a new reactor unit and is expected to take ten days to complete.
"The beginning of the testing of the hermetic shell brings us one step closer to putting Rostov unit 4 into operation," Alexey Deriy, vice president for project in Russia, said in a Rosatom statement today.
