During summer-fall navigation season this year, nuclear icebreakers of FSUE Atomflot (a company of ROSATOM) have steered four cargo ships of the Chinese company Cosco Shipping Specilaized Carriers Co. Ltd. via the Northern Sea Route (NSR), the company’s press service reports.
From the end of July till the end of August nuclear icebreakers the Vaygach and the Taimyr helped pass NSR to motor vessels Tian You, Tian Jian, Tian Hui and Tian En which shipped freights of the Chinese public companies.
The Atomflot press service clarified that in the summer-fall navigation season 2017 only one Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship passed via NSR assisted by a nuclear icebreaker.
