ROSATOM and its leading companies participated in one of the most important events for the global nuclear industry – World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE-2018) that took place in Paris on June 26-28.
This year around 800 companies from more than 30 countries took part in the event. ROSATOM acted as one of the key partners of the exhibition, presenting at its stand the latest Russian developments in the field of nuclear energy.
"This year ROSATOM widely demonstrated its competence at the WNE 2018. During the exhibition we signed a number of strategically important agreements with international companies. We are sure that successful future of the nuclear industry is impossible without global partnership and a properly built dialogue between all the nuclear market players”, said Alexey Likhachev, General Director of ROSATOM.
Memorandums with leading French companies, including SUEZ and EDF, on cooperation in the field of water desalination, treatment and purification and in the field of research and development, respectively, were signed on the sidelines of the exhibition. A memorandum was also signed with Bureau Veritas on mutual understanding in the development of digital platforms. In addition, ROSATOM has joined the Nuclear Quality Standard Association (NQSA), which makes it possible to participate in the improvement of world standards for quality management in the nuclear industry and their implementation.
A panel discussion of ROSATOM on "Business Partnerships as a Vital Requirement for the Future of Nuclear Industry" was held in the course of the main WNE program, where Kirill Komarov, First Deputy General Director of ROSATOM, Director of the Development and International Business Unit, made his speech. The participants in the discussion came to the conclusion that future of nuclear energy is impossible without unification of efforts on the part of all players of the international nuclear business. In particular, they discussed the need to move to a new level of cooperation in the international energy community. Today, it is extremely important to work together to change the attitude towards nuclear energy in the world and to raise the level of awareness of the international community about modern nuclear developments, as well as high standards of safety applied in the nuclear industry.
Representatives of ROSATOM were also invited as experts to the events organized by other international companies. So, Kirill Komarov spoke on the Engie panel session dedicated to the topic of innovations in the field of nuclear services. Rosatom also presented its developments in the field of floating NPPs within the framework of the discussion " Floating NPPs as a Unique Solution for the Green Future”.
ROSATOM's comprehensive project to implement the knowledge management system at Afrikantov OKBM (part of Atomenergomash, the mechanical engineering division of ROSATOM), JSC won the category "Skill & Knowledge Management” at the prestigious WNE Awards 2018.
