Work on the second power unit is in progress, too. In particular, a limited work permit for Unit 2 was obtained in late autumn of 2018. Engineering survey at the site is in progress. At the next stage, we are planning to get a construction license for the power unit and start concreting its foundation slab. In a separate development, we are preparing a package of documents for the TAEK for Unit 3 in order to obtain construction authorizations. The Akkuyu NPP project schedule is quite packed and it implies a one-year interval for commissioning of the power units".
According to Mr. Dedusenko, it is critical for Rosatom to develop an efficient information and business interface with suppliers. "We have already been working with many Turkish companies, but the pace of the project opens the potential for a broader cooperation. In this regard, this workshop is of extreme importance for us," the speaker added.
