The Jury of the international Fidic Awards 2018 has conferred the Award of Merit to the Russian Company JSC ASE EC (Engineering Division of ROSATOM).
In this year, the project of the interim spent fuel storage facility (SFSF) constructed as part of the Ignalina NPP decommissioning has taken the Award of Merit. It has been implemented by Nukem Technologies GmbH, the German subsidiary of ASE that is engaged in RAW/SNF and NPP decommissioning projects.  The project has been financed by the  European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) by the aid of the International Support Fund of the Ignalina NPP Decommissioning Project.
The project was managed by using the FIDIC contract tools that allowed its efficiency and transparency during the project implementation and involving the majority of participants.
The universal recognition of the SFSF construction project testifies to the high-level competences and technologies of ROSATOM’s Engineering Division.
The FIDIC Awards 2018 awarding ceremony of the competition winners will be held as part of the international FIDIC infrastructure conference in Berlin (Germany) on September 9-10, 2018. The same Conference will elect the “Best project of the year” from the companies that have taken the Award of Merit.
