Unit 1 of Rosenergoatom’s Kola nuclear power plant was reconnected to the grid on 23 December, following 250 days of modernisation work to extend its operating period by 15 years to 2033.
ROSATOM said this was the first time that a VVER-440 power unit in Russia had been commissioned after the “renewal of its service life”.
